NAPCOR on Nov. 2 released its 2020 PET Recycling Report, the 26th annual edition of the release. The report found PET bottles notched a 26.6% recycling rate in the U.S. in 2020, down from 27.9% in 2019 and 28.9% in 2018. The drop was due to a decline in U.S. PET bottle collection, which fell by 2.3% by weight, according to NAPCOR.
